Day 37: Unlocking Secrets

Last night, I made burgers. I used spiced, onions and garlic, served with salad, yoghurt and bacon. I must say, they hit the spot! Beef & Bacon are a great combination, along with a bit of salt!

I decided to have a look and see if Dukan had any pointers after the fact.


Poking around, I found a fairly bland-looking recipe for burgers, but that linked to an interesting-looking recipe for a BBQ sauce. That recipe requires a sugar-free tomato sauce, so I'd give it a try elsewhere.

However, off to the side I saw a link to a tolerated foods list. I had seen this once or twice before, but hadn't been able to find it again. The list contains gems like cheese, cream and chicken sausages (all low-fat varieties). I've been missing out! (or at least indulging guiltily).

I've complained about the Dukan site layout before, but this is the worst example so far. A tolerated foods list should be on the front page of the food section (or at least a reference to it). Reading through the outline of The Cruise Phase, there is no reference to a tolerated food list. I think that should be mentioned at least in passing!

In addition, the list has contradictory information on it. The main outline says to completely avoid oil. The tolerated list allows up to three drops per day! What's going on!?

 * Yesterday was, indeed, a downward spike. Oh well...
