Mass: 88.5 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 14.5 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 2.5 Kg
Phase: Cruise

Well, it seems almost over, and I'm only around half-way
through my cruise phase. I suspect I downplayed my bike riding when I first signed up, but this are coming along very nicely.

Day 49: Sweet Mapley Goodness!

Mass: 91.5 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 11.5 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 5.5 Kg
Phase: Cruise!

It's been a while, but  I've got a few things to report. My mass has been sitting around 91.5-92.0 Kg for over a week now- I really wish it'd shift again! A little more effort I suppose- doesn't help when it's so cold! I had a bowl of soup at school yesterday, and chose the Vegetable and Lentil variety. You'd think healthy, but with a few pieces of potato and the lentils, apparently that's a no-no. Oh well!

Day 41: A Bit of A Blow

Mass: 92.8 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 10.2 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 6.8 Kg
Phase: Attack!

I made another cake today, and I'm even more excited than last time! This one breaks a few of the rules- I used a sugar free chocolate bar (Which still has about 40% fat). THis means that we're not really consuming much sugar, but far content of this cake is still reasonably high. Oh well, the cake is recommended by the site (sans chocolate), so I'm not too worried. It should taste good for our non-Dukaning friends, too.

Day 37: Unlocking Secrets

Mass: 94 Kg *
Mass-Loss to date: 9 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 8 Kg
Phase: Cruise

Last night, I made burgers. I used spiced, onions and garlic, served with salad, yoghurt and bacon. I must say, they hit the spot! Beef & Bacon are a great combination, along with a bit of salt!

I decided to have a look and see if Dukan had any pointers after the fact.

Day 36: Crisis Averted

Mass: 93.2 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 9.8 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 7.2 Kg
Phase: Cruise

Half way! Well, haf way to my 'true weight' (of 86 Kg). I'm moving at a very rapid rate, and I think I'll be at my true wight long before predicted.

Day 30: Freedom Restricted

Mass: 94.8 Kg
Mouth Watering!
Mass-Loss to date:  8.2 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 8.8 Kg
Phase: Cruise

Almost half way- woot! I made an enquiry to my coach via email on the weekend. It is by far the most efficient way to get information from the program; as I said before, searching the website is pretty hopeless. I wanted to know about my new friend Maltitol...

Day 28: What's that?

Mass: 95.8 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 7.2 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 9.8 Kg
Phase: Cruise

Progress has been up-and-down. You can see on last week's chart that whilst I am definitely trending down, it's not very even, and plenty of times I go up. Still, I'm happy with progress.

Day 22

Mass: 96.8 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 6.2 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 10.8 Kg
Phase: Cruise

My mass has been a bit up-and down over the last week or so, but it is trending downward (as you'd hope). I did get a spike (pit?) of loss last week, but I can't work out the cause of that.

I'm constantly finding new things to eat and try cooking, so it's been really great from that perspective. I'm finding the Dukan site a bit grating, but you can't have it all!

Day 19

Mass: 97.2 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 5.8 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 11.2 Kg
Phase: Cruise

Today is ANZAC Day (for those outside of Australia/New Zealand, it stands for Australian & New Zealand Army Corps, and we take the day to remember those who served in war). I'm not at work, so Meghs and I are off to friends to play some board games. I will fill you in on the end result at my other blog, but I will describe my preparation here.

Day 15

Mass: 98.2 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 4.8 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 12.2 Kg
Phase: Cruise

Mass-loss has plateaued a bit in the last week, but started back up in the last two days, so that's comforting. Clothing is starting to fit more comfortably, and my measurements are certainly decreasing (at a much steadier rate than my mass). I have found a new favourite thing!

Day 8: Routine

Mass: 98.6 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 4.4 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 12.6 Kg
Phase: Cruise

Phase 2 has started: The Cruise Phase. The difference now is that I still eat only protein on eve days, but I can also add vegetables on the odd days. That's non-starchy vegetables, by the way. No potatoes!

Home-made breakfast of Galette, Yoghurt, Smoked Salmon and Gherkin

Day 6: Branching Out

Lifted from The Dukan Website
Mass: 99.8 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 3.2 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 13.8 Kg
Phase: Attack!

It's been a few days, but things are starting to settle down a bit. Obviously, weight-loss is going fairly smoothly, although is is starting to level
 out:

Day 2: A distinct lack of sugar.

Mass: 102.3 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 0.7 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 16.3 Kg
Phase: Attack!

Just for the record, I probably won't do daily posts for this whole thing, but whilst it's new and I'm on holidays, I will try to. For the record, I consider 0.7 Kg mass-loss to be negligible. It could simply be a large glass of water!

Day 1: Let's go shopping

Mass: 103 Kg
Mass-Loss to date: 0 Kg
Mass-Loss Remaining: 17 Kg
Phase: Attack!

I woke up this morning quite excited to see how I'd go on this new diet. The Dukan Diet is primarily a high-protein diet, similar to the Atkins Diet, which I have also researched a bit. The primary difference in my mind is that Dukan puts greater restrictions on what you can eat, so that you can't over-eat the things you oughtn't.Atkins puts a bit more trust in you that you won't overindulge in a wide variety of foods; Dukan allows overindulgence in a limited menu.

Introduction

Today I start the Dukan Diet, what could quite possibly be the latest fad diet. However, I've seen results from people I know, not to mention advice from healthcare professionals, so that's inspired my wife and me to give it a go. We've tried other diets, with reasonable success. However, it didn't stick and we were soon back where we started.

The aim of this blog is to act as a bit of a diary for myself. Hopefully, I can also offer some advice for others trying the diet. With a bit of luck and perseverance, I may even be able to give you some inspiration. I am not being paid by the Dukan company, so expect to see a full range of my reactions from pleasure, to skepticism, to outright mockery of the program.
